[170] Here, Bhaddāli, a certain bhikkhu is an occasional offender (adhiccāpattika), not abounding in offenses (āpatti). Being admonished by the bhikkhus, he evades one question with another, diverts the talk to an outside matter, and displays anger, hatred, and displeasure; he does not conduct himself properly, does not make his hair lie flat, does not act so as to extricate himself, and does not say, 'I shall do that with which the Saṅgha is pleased.' In that case, Bhaddāli, the bhikkhus think thus: 'Friends, this bhikkhu is an occasional offender, not abounding in offenses. Being admonished by the bhikkhus, he evades one question with another, diverts the talk to an outside matter, and displays anger, hatred, and displeasure; he does not conduct himself properly, does not make his hair lie flat, does not act so as to extricate himself, and does not say, "I shall do that with which the Saṅgha is pleased."
