[219] "Friends, a forest-dwelling bhikkhu (āraññaka bhikkhu) should apply himself to those peaceful liberations (vimokkha) that are formless, transcending forms. There are, friends, those who will question a forest-dwelling bhikkhu about those peaceful liberations that are formless, transcending forms. If, friends, a forest-dwelling bhikkhu, when asked a question about those peaceful liberations that are formless, transcending forms, cannot answer, there will be those who say of him: 'What is the point, for this venerable forest-dweller, of dwelling alone in the forest at his own free will, since this venerable one, when asked a question about those peaceful liberations that are formless, transcending forms, cannot answer?' There will be those who say this of him. Therefore a forest-dwelling bhikkhu should apply himself to those peaceful liberations that are formless, transcending forms."
