[314] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Rājagaha, in the Bamboo Grove (Veḷuvana), the squirrels' feeding ground (Kalandakanivāpa). Now on that occasion several very well-known wanderers were residing in the wanderers' park at the peacocks' feeding ground (Moranivāpa) — namely, Annabhāra, Varatara, the wanderer Sakuludāyi, and other very well-known wanderers. Then the Blessed One, having dressed in the morning and taken his bowl and robe, entered Rājagaha for alms. Then it occurred to the Blessed One: "It is still too early to walk for alms in Rājagaha. Suppose I were to approach the wanderers' park at the peacocks' feeding ground, to approach the wanderer Sakuludāyi." Then the Blessed One approached the wanderers' park at the peacocks' feeding ground.
