[408] When this was said, Ānanda, Jotipāla the brahmin student said to Ghaṭikāra the potter: "Enough, friend Ghaṭikāra. What is the use of seeing that shaveling, that petty ascetic?" A second time, Ānanda … A third time, Ānanda, Ghaṭikāra the potter said to Jotipāla the brahmin student: "Friend Jotipāla, the monastery of the Blessed One Kassapa, the Arahant, the Fully Self-Awakened One, is not far from here. Come, friend Jotipāla, let us go to see the Blessed One Kassapa, the Arahant, the Fully Self-Awakened One; for I deem it good indeed to see that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Fully Self-Awakened One." A third time, Ānanda, Jotipāla the brahmin student said to Ghaṭikāra the potter: "Enough, friend Ghaṭikāra. What is the use of seeing that shaveling, that petty ascetic?"
