[421] Then, Ānanda, King Kikī of Kāsi sent to Ghaṭīkāra the potter some five hundred cartloads of husked rice of the paṇḍumudika hill-rice, together with sauce ingredients suitable for that rice. Then, Ānanda, the king's men approached Ghaṭīkāra the potter and said to him: "Venerable sir, these five hundred cartloads of husked rice of the paṇḍumudika hill-rice, together with sauce ingredients suitable for that rice, have been sent to you by King Kikī of Kāsi. Please accept them, venerable sir."
(Ghaṭīkāra replied:) "The king has many duties, many things to be done. I have enough; let this be for the king himself."
