[466] "What do you think of that, great king? If a brahmin (brāhmaṇa) should prosper by means of wealth, grain, silver, or gold, might a brahmin too rise before him and retire after him, attend upon his bidding, behave agreeably toward him, and speak pleasantly to him? Might a merchant (vessa) too … might a worker (sudda) too … might a noble (khattiya) too rise before him and retire after him, attend upon his bidding, behave agreeably toward him, and speak pleasantly to him?"
