[474] "Good, good, great king! It is good, great king, that you understand it thus, and it is good that you have heard this from the arahants (arahataṃ). What do you think, great king? Suppose there were here a brahmin (brāhmaṇa) … suppose there were here a vessa … suppose there were here a sudda who refrains from killing living beings … holding right view (sammādiṭṭhi) — on the breaking up of the body, after death, would he be reborn in a good destination, a heavenly world, or not? Or how do you see this matter?"
"Even a sudda, worthy Kaccāna, who refrains from killing living beings, refrains from taking what is not given … holding right view — on the breaking up of the body, after death, would be reborn in a good destination, a heavenly world. Thus do I see this matter; and moreover, so have I heard it from the arahants."
