[590] When this was said, the brahmin Brahmāyu rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, raised his joined palms in reverence toward where the Blessed One was, and uttered this inspired utterance (udāna) three times: "Homage to that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Fully Awakened One! … Homage to that Blessed One, the Arahant, the Fully Awakened One! Perhaps at some time or other we might meet with that worthy Gotama; perhaps there might be some conversation with him."
