[623] "What do you think, Assalāyana? Suppose here a khattiya youth were to cohabit with a brahmin maiden, and in consequence of their cohabitation a son were born. Would that son, born of the khattiya youth and the brahmin maiden — being like the mother and also like the father — be fit to be called both a khattiya and a brahmin?"
"Worthy Gotama, the son who would be born of the khattiya youth and the brahmin maiden — being like the mother and also like the father — would be fit to be called both a khattiya and a brahmin."
