[629] When this was said, the brahmin student (māṇava) Assalāyana said to the Blessed One: "Excellent (abhikkantaṃ), worthy Gotama! … May the worthy Gotama remember me as a lay follower (upāsaka) who has gone for refuge for life, from this day forth."
The Assalāyana Sutta, the third, is concluded.
