[675] When the brahmin Dhanañjāni had sat down to one side, the Venerable Sāriputta said this to him: "Dhanañjāni, I hope you are diligent?"
"Worthy Sāriputta, how could there be diligence for us, when we must support mother and father, must support children and wife, must support slaves, workers, and servants; must do for friends and companions what is to be done for friends and companions; must do for relatives and kin what is to be done for relatives and kin; must do for guests what is to be done for guests; must do for the departed ancestors what is to be done for the departed ancestors; must do for the deities what is to be done for the deities; must do for the king what is to be done for the king; and this body too must be gratified and built up?"
