[733] When this was said, the brahmin Jāṇussoṇi descended from his chariot drawn entirely by white mares, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, raised his joined palms in reverence toward where the Blessed One was, and uttered this inspired utterance (udāna): "It is a gain for King Pasenadi of Kosala! It is well gained indeed by King Pasenadi of Kosala, in whose realm dwells the Tathāgata, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One (sammāsambuddha)!"
