[116] "Surely, worthy Ānanda, the Veḷuvana is delightful, with little sound and little noise, its air untouched by people, apart from the haunts of human beings, suitable for seclusion — just as befits such worthies who meditate and who make a practice of meditation (jhāna); for the worthies are indeed both meditators and those who make a practice of meditation. On one occasion, worthy Ānanda, that worthy Gotama was dwelling at Vesālī, in the Great Wood, in the Hall with the Peaked Roof. Then, worthy Ānanda, I approached the Great Wood, the Hall with the Peaked Roof, where that worthy Gotama was. And there that worthy Gotama spoke in many ways a talk on meditation. That worthy Gotama was himself both a meditator and one who made a practice of meditation. And that worthy Gotama praised all meditation."
