[115] Then the brahmin Vassakāra, the chief minister of Magadha, said this to Venerable Ānanda: "But where is Ānanda staying at present?"
"Brahmin, at present I am staying in the Bamboo Grove (Veḷuvana)."
"But, worthy Ānanda, is the Bamboo Grove delightful, with little sound and little noise, with an atmosphere of solitude, affording privacy from people, and fit for retreat (paṭisallāna)?"
"Certainly, brahmin, the Bamboo Grove is delightful, with little sound and little noise, with an atmosphere of solitude, affording privacy from people, and fit for retreat — as it is owing to such protectors and guardians as yourself."
