[371] "Venerable sir, I have heard this in the presence of the Blessed One, received it in his presence: 'Ānanda, whereas other women give birth after carrying the child in the womb for nine months or ten months, not so does the mother of the Bodhisatta (bodhisatta) give birth to the Bodhisatta: the mother of the Bodhisatta gives birth to the Bodhisatta after carrying him in her womb for exactly ten months.' That too, venerable sir, … This too, venerable sir, I remember as a wonderful and marvellous quality (acchariya-abbhūtadhamma) of the Blessed One."
