[381] "Friend Kassapa, you should not ask me thus: 'But friend Bakkula, in these eighty years, how many times have you engaged in sexual intercourse?' Rather, friend Kassapa, you should ask me thus: 'But friend Bakkula, in these eighty years, how many times has a perception of sensuality (kāmasaññā) ever arisen in you?'"
[381] "Friend, in the eighty years since I went forth, I do not recall that a perception of sensuality has ever arisen in me."
"That the Venerable Bakkula, in eighty years, does not recall a perception of sensuality having ever arisen — this too we shall remember as a wonderful and amazing quality (acchariya abbhūtadhamma) of the Venerable Bakkula."
