[427] "Householder, it does not occur to those deities: 'This of ours is permanent,' or 'lasting,' or 'eternal.' Rather, wherever those deities cling (abhinivisanti), right there those deities take delight. Just as, householder, when flies are being carried along on a carrying-pole or in a basket, it does not occur to them: 'This of ours is permanent,' or 'lasting,' or 'eternal'; rather, wherever those flies cling, right there those flies take delight — even so, householder, it does not occur to those deities: 'This of ours is permanent,' or 'lasting,' or 'eternal.' Rather, wherever those deities cling, right there those deities take delight."
