[451] "Good, good, Anuruddhas! But as you dwell thus diligent and resolute, have you attained any distinction of knowledge and vision (ñāṇa) worthy of the noble ones, surpassing the state of ordinary humans — a comfortable abiding?"
"Here, venerable sir, as we dwell diligent, ardent, and resolute, we perceive light and a vision of forms. But before long that light of ours vanishes, and the vision of forms; and we have not penetrated that sign (nimitta)."
