[67] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Vesālī, in the Great Wood, in the Hall with the Peaked Roof. Now on that occasion several bhikkhus had declared final knowledge (aññā) in the presence of the Blessed One thus: "We understand: 'Birth (jāti) is destroyed, the holy life has been lived, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this state of being.'"
