[675] Then the Blessed One entered the potter's workshop, prepared a spread of grass to one side, and sat down, folding his legs crosswise, setting his body erect, and establishing mindfulness (sati) before him. Then the Blessed One spent much of the night sitting thus, and the venerable Pukkusāti also spent much of the night sitting thus. Then it occurred to the Blessed One: "This clansman conducts himself in an inspiring manner. Suppose I were to question him." Then the Blessed One said this to the venerable Pukkusāti: "Bhikkhu, in dedication to whom have you gone forth? Who is your teacher? Whose Dhamma do you profess?"
