[706] Thus have I heard. At one time the Blessed One was dwelling among the Sakyans, at Kapilavatthu, in the Nigrodha Park (Nigrodhārāma). Then Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī, taking a new pair of cloths, approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, she sat down to one side. Seated to one side, Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, this new pair of cloths was spun by me myself and woven by me myself, intended specially for the Blessed One. Venerable sir, may the Blessed One accept it from me, out of compassion."
