[773] "Just so, sisters, if anyone should speak thus: 'These six internal sense bases (āyatana) of mine are impermanent, but whatever feeling (vedanā) I experience in dependence on the internal sense bases — whether pleasant, or painful, or neither-painful-nor-pleasant — that is permanent, stable, eternal, not subject to change' — would that person, sisters, be speaking rightly?"
"No indeed, venerable sir."
"Why is that?"
"Venerable sir, because in dependence on each corresponding condition, each corresponding feeling arises; with the cessation of each corresponding condition, each corresponding feeling ceases."
"Good, good, sisters! So it is, sisters, for a noble disciple who sees this as it really is with right wisdom."
