[795] Thus have I heard. At one time the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's monastery. Then, while the Blessed One was gone into solitude, in seclusion, this reflection arose in his mind: "The qualities that ripen liberation (vimutti) have indeed ripened in Rāhula. Suppose I were to guide Rāhula further, to the destruction of the taints (āsava)."
