[794] Then, not long after those bhikkhunīs had departed, the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, just as on the uposatha day of the fifteenth there is no doubt or perplexity in the great multitude as to 'Is the moon not full, or is the moon full?' — for then the moon is simply full — even so, bhikkhus, those bhikkhunīs were both satisfied with Nandaka's teaching of the Dhamma and had their aspirations fulfilled. Bhikkhus, of those five hundred bhikkhunīs, even the last bhikkhunī is a stream-enterer (sotāpanna), no longer subject to fall into states of deprivation, fixed in destiny, with full awakening as her destination."
Thus spoke the Blessed One. Satisfied, those bhikkhus delighted in the Blessed One's words.
The Nandakovāda Sutta, the fourth, is finished.
