[780] Then the Blessed One, not long after those bhikkhunīs had departed, addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, just as on the Uposatha day of the fourteenth there is no perplexity or doubt among the multitude as to whether the moon is not full or whether the moon is full, since the moon is then plainly not full — even so, bhikkhus, those bhikkhunīs are gladdened by Nandaka's teaching of the Dhamma, and yet their aspiration is not yet fulfilled." Then the Blessed One addressed the venerable Nandaka: "Well then, Nandaka, tomorrow also you should exhort those bhikkhunīs with that same exhortation." "Even so, venerable sir," the venerable Nandaka replied to the Blessed One.
