[843] Furthermore, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should reflect thus: 'Have I developed the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna)?' If, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, reviewing, knows thus: 'I have not developed the four establishments of mindfulness,' then, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should strive for the development of the four establishments of mindfulness. But if, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, reviewing, knows thus: 'I have developed the four establishments of mindfulness,' then, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell with that very rapture (pīti) and gladness, training day and night in wholesome dhammas.
