[844] Furthermore, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should reflect thus: 'Have I developed the four right strivings (sammappadhāna)?' If, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, reviewing, knows thus: 'I have not developed the four right strivings,' then, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should strive for the development of the four right strivings. But if, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, reviewing, knows thus: 'I have developed the four right strivings,' then, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell with that very rapture (pīti) and gladness, training day and night in wholesome states.
