[852] "Sāriputta, whatever ascetics or brahmins in the past purified their almsfood (piṇḍapāta), all of them purified their almsfood by reviewing it again and again in just this way. Whatever ascetics or brahmins in the future will purify their almsfood, all of them will purify their almsfood by reviewing it again and again in just this way. Whatever ascetics or brahmins at present purify their almsfood, all of them purify their almsfood by reviewing it again and again in just this way. Therefore, Sāriputta, you should train thus: 'We shall purify our almsfood by reviewing it again and again.' Thus indeed, Sāriputta, should you train."
Thus spoke the Blessed One. Gratified, the Venerable Sāriputta rejoiced in the Blessed One's words.
The Piṇḍapātapārisuddhi Sutta, the ninth, is concluded.
