[125] Then another deity (devatā) uttered this inspired utterance (udāna) in the presence of the Blessed One: "A lion indeed, sir, is the ascetic Gotama! And in lion-like fashion he endures the bodily feelings (vedanā) that have arisen — painful, racking, sharp, piercing, disagreeable, displeasing — mindful (sato) and clearly comprehending (sampajāno), without being distressed."
