[129] Then another deity (devatā) uttered this inspired utterance (udāna) in the presence of the Blessed One: "Tamed indeed, sir, is the ascetic Gotama! And when bodily feelings (vedanā) have arisen that are painful (dukkha), racking, sharp, piercing, disagreeable, and displeasing, through his tamed manner he endures them — mindful (sato) and clearly comprehending (sampajāno) — without being distressed."
