[149] "Those who are misers here in the world,
niggardly, revilers,
people who create obstacles
for others who are giving —
they are reborn in hell, in the animal womb,
or in the world of Yama.
If they come to the human state,
they are born in a poor family,
where cloth, food, pleasure, and play
are obtained only with difficulty.
Whatever the fools hope for from others,
even that they do not obtain.
That is the result in this very life,
and in the life to come, a bad destination."
