Maccharisutta

[150] "Thus indeed we understand this; we ask Gotama another question. Those here who, having gained the human state, are responsive to entreaty (vadaññū), rid of stinginess (vītamaccharā), confident (pasannā) in the Buddha and in the Dhamma, and bearing keen reverence for the Saṅgha — of what kind is the result (vipāka) for them, and of what kind their future state (samparāya)? Having come to ask the Blessed One, how are we to know this?"
