[385] He said this. … "For one who desires riches, lofty, one after another, the wise praise diligence (appamāda) in the doing of deeds of merit. Diligent, the wise one secures both goods: the good in this very life and the good pertaining to the life to come. Through the attainment of the good, the steadfast one is called 'wise.'"
