[389] This is what the Blessed One said. …
"Water that has collected in a place of non-humans (amanussa) —
a man leaves it aside, for it is not to be drunk;
even so, a base man (kāpurisa), having obtained wealth,
neither enjoys¹ it himself nor gives.
But the wise and discerning man, having come into riches —
he enjoys² them and is a doer of his duties;
having supported the company of his kin, a chief bull (nisabha) among men,
blameless, he goes to the place of heaven (sagga)."
