[400] "So it is, great king! So it is, great king! All beings (sattā) are subject to death (maraṇa), have death as their end, and have not passed beyond death. Just as, great king, whatever vessels made by a potter — whether unfired or fired — all of them are subject to breaking, have breaking as their end, and have not passed beyond breaking; even so, great king, all beings are subject to death, have death as their end, and have not passed beyond death."
