[48] "Friend, I do not run after what is time-bound (kālika), having abandoned what is directly visible (sandiṭṭhika); rather, friend, having abandoned what is time-bound, I run after what is directly visible. For sensual pleasures (kāma), friend, have been declared by the Blessed One to be time-bound, full of much suffering (dukkha), full of much despair (upāyāsa); the danger (ādīnava) therein is still greater. This Dhamma is directly visible, timeless (akālika), inviting one to come and see (ehipassika), leading onward (opanayika), to be personally experienced by the wise."
