[489] Then the Venerable Godhika, dwelling diligent (appamatta), ardent (ātāpī), and resolute (pahitatta), touched temporary (sāmāyika)¹ liberation of mind (cetovimutti). Then the Venerable Godhika fell away from that temporary liberation of mind. A second time the Venerable Godhika, dwelling diligent, ardent, and resolute, touched temporary liberation of mind. Then it occurred to the Venerable Godhika: "Up to the sixth time now I have fallen away from temporary liberation of mind.
