[508] Then Taṇhā, Aratī, and Rāgā, the daughters of Māra, having withdrawn to one side, took counsel together thus: "Diverse indeed are the intentions of men. Suppose each of us were to create the forms of a hundred maidens."
Then Taṇhā, Aratī, and Rāgā, the daughters of Māra, having each created the forms of a hundred maidens, approached the Blessed One; having approached, they said this to the Blessed One: "We would serve at your feet, ascetic (samaṇa)." But the Blessed One paid no attention even to that, since he was liberated in the unsurpassed extinction of acquisitions (upadhi).
