[510] Then Taṇhā, Aratī, and Rāgā, the daughters of Māra, withdrew to one side and deliberated together thus: "Diverse indeed are the inclinations of men. What if we were each to manifest a hundred forms — a hundred apiece — of women who have each given birth once?" Then Taṇhā … [and Aratī and Rāgā, the daughters of Māra,] having each manifested a hundred forms of women who had given birth once, [approached] the Blessed One … [and said to him: "We would serve at your feet, ascetic." But even to that the Blessed One paid no attention,] since he was liberated in the unsurpassed destruction of acquisitions (upadhi).
