[567] Then the Blessed One, knowing with his own mind (cetasā) the reflection in the mind of Baka Brahmā, just as a strong man might stretch out his bent arm or bend back his outstretched arm, even so vanished from Jetavana and appeared in that brahmā world (brahmaloka).
Baka Brahmā saw the Blessed One coming while still far off. Having seen him, he said this to the Blessed One: "Come, dear sir (mārisa)! Welcome, dear sir! It has been long indeed, dear sir, since you made this occasion (pariyāya) — namely, for coming here. For this, dear sir, is permanent, this is everlasting, this is eternal, this is complete (kevala), this is of a nature not to pass away; for this is not born, does not age, does not die, does not pass away, and is not reborn. And there is no other escape (nissaraṇa) superior to this."
