[576] Then it occurred to the Venerable Mahākassapa: "Where, indeed, is the Blessed One now dwelling?" The Venerable Mahākassapa saw the Blessed One with the divine eye … Having seen him, just as a strong man … even so he vanished from Jetavana and appeared in that brahmā world. Then the Venerable Mahākassapa, stationing himself in the southern quarter, sat cross-legged in the air above that brahmā, having attained the fire element (tejodhātu), at a level lower than the Blessed One.
