[578] Then it occurred to the Venerable Anuruddha: "Where indeed is the Blessed One now dwelling?" The Venerable Anuruddha saw … [the Blessed One] who had attained the fire element (tejodhātu). Having seen [him], just as a strong man … he appeared in that brahmā world (brahmaloka).
Then the Venerable Anuruddha, stationing himself in the northern quarter, sat down cross-legged in the air above that Brahmā, having attained the fire element, at a level lower than the Blessed One.
