[633] "Whence is anger for one free of anger — for the tamed one living evenly,
for one liberated through perfect final knowledge (sammadaññā vimutta), at peace, steadfast (tādī)?
Worse it is for that very one who returns anger to one who is angry;
by not returning anger to the angry, one wins a battle hard to win.
He fares for the welfare of both — his own and the other's —
who, knowing the other to be enraged, mindfully (sato) keeps his peace.
While he is healing both — himself and the other —
people think him a fool: those unskilled in the Dhamma."
