[700] When this was said, the brahmin Mānatthaddha said to the Blessed One: "Excellent, Master Gotama! Excellent, Master Gotama! … May Master Gotama remember me as a lay follower (upāsaka) who has gone for refuge (saraṇaṅgata) from this day forth, for as long as life lasts." [Siam edition variant-reading footnotes:] 1. Ma. (Burmese edition): "abbhutavittajātā". 2. Ma.: "kesu cassa"; Yu. (European/PTS edition): "kesu assa". 3.
