[748] Then it occurred to the Venerable Vaṅgīsa: "This Blessed One instructs, encourages, inspires, and gladdens the bhikkhus with a Dhamma talk connected with Nibbāna, and those bhikkhus, having made it their object, having attended to it, having focused on it with their whole mind, listen to the Dhamma, lending ear. Suppose I were to extol the Blessed One to his face with fitting verses."
Then the Venerable Vaṅgīsa rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, raised his joined palms in reverential salutation toward the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: "An inspiration has come to me, Blessed One! An inspiration has come to me, Sugata!"
"Let your inspiration come forth, Vaṅgīsa," said the Blessed One.
