[759] Then the Venerable Vaṅgīsa extolled the Blessed One in his presence with a fitting verse:
[Siam edition apparatus, at this point in the text: ¹ The Burmese and European editions read *anupariyeti*. ² The Burmese and European editions insert here *sattahi ca upāsikāsatehi* — "and with seven hundred female lay followers."]
"As the moon shines in a cloudless sky,
as does the radiant sun, free from stain,
so too do you, Aṅgīrasa, great sage,
outshine the whole world with your glory."
