[793] At one time several bhikkhus were dwelling among the Kosalans in a certain forest thicket — restless, haughty, fickle, garrulous, scattered in their speech, muddled in mindfulness (sati), lacking clear comprehension (sampajañña), unconcentrated (asamāhita), with wandering minds (citta), and with their sense faculties (indriya) left unrestrained.
