[846] [The yakkha Āḷavaka:]
"Why now should I question
the many ascetics and brahmins,
when today I understand
the good that pertains to the life to come (samparāyika)?
Truly for my benefit the Buddha
came to dwell at Āḷavī;²
today I understand
where a gift given bears great fruit.
I shall wander from village to village,
from town to town,
paying homage to the Fully Awakened One (Sambuddha)
and to the excellence of the Dhamma (sudhammatā)."
The Yakkhasaṃyutta is completed.
The summary (uddāna) thereof:
Indaka, Sakka and Sūci,
Maṇibhadda and Sānu,
Piyaṅkara and Punabbasu,
Sudatta, the two Sukkās, and Cīrā—
with Āḷavaka these make twelve.
