[907] This is what the Blessed One said. Having said this, the Fortunate One (sugata), the Teacher, further said this:

The person who supports mother and father, who reveres the elders in the family,
gentle, of kindly speech, who has abandoned divisive speech (pesuṇeyya),
devoted to the removal of stinginess (macchera), truthful, a man who has vanquished anger (kodha)—
that one indeed the devas of Tāvatiṃsa declare 'a superior person (sappurisa).'
