[915] This was said. … "The person who supports mother and father, who reveres the elders in the family, gentle, kindly in conversation, who has abandoned divisive speech (pesuṇeyya), devoted to the dispelling of stinginess (macchera), the man who is truthful and has vanquished anger (kodha) — him indeed the Tāvatiṃsa devas declare 'a superior person (sappurisa).'"
